Chromium Zirconium Copper Contact Tip
Introduction
Chromium zirconium copper contact tips are the main consumables in welding equipment and play an important role in welding wire conducting. Compared with pure copper contact tip, it has better performance in hardness, anti-adhesion, wear and corrosion resistance and service life.
Characteristics
Chromium zirconium copper contact tip plays an important role in MIG (Metal Inertia Gas) welding and SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) process. The main characteristics show as follow: 1. The central portion of the contact tip has been strengthened in terms of hardness and wear resistance; 2. High electrical conductivity can contribute to high temperature welding produced rapid transfer; 3. Stable performance, high welding quality, good reliability; 4. Processed products concentricity and finish can meet the requirements.
Failure Accounts
Based on theoretical analysis and combined with the problems in concrete production, there are some main factors accounts for the failure of chromium zirconium copper contact tips as follow: 1. A third of reason is that the bonding between welding wire and contact tip. It generally due to the large in aperture and out of round caused by the abrasion; 2. Welding temperature or speed controlled improperly, leading to deformation of the contact tip is softened, and the welding wire can not be effectively conducted.
