Tungsten Copper Process – Activated Liquid Phase Sintering
Tungsten copper activated liquid phase sintering can improve the miscibility between tungsten and copper and promote the sintering process by means of adding a small amount of Co, Ni, Fe, Pd and other activated elements.
Adding Co, Ni, Pd activated elements will form middle phase (Such as Co7W6 or Fe2W), which can remarkably improve tungsten solubility in copper liquid and increase the wettability. And Co, Fe can promote tungsten grains sintering and increase the hardness, density and fracture strength of tungsten copper.
Tungsten copper activated liquid phase sintering process as follow: Tungsten powder + Copper powder + Ni, Co, Fe element → Ball milling (in heptane, 24h) → Drying and sieving → Pressing → 1250~1400℃ (H2, 1h) → Sintering; Or Tungsten powder → Ball milling (in heptane, 24h) → Drying and sieving → Copper salt solution and nickel, cobalt or iron powder additives salt solution → Stirring and evaporating (95 ℃) → 800℃ reduction (H2, 2h) → Pressing →1250~1400℃ (H2, 1h) → Sintering.
