Tungsten Copper Contact Proportion
Tungsten copper contact has both advantages of W and Cu, such as high hardness, high strength, excellent conductivity and wear or corrosion resistance. According to different content of W and Cu, tungsten copper rod proportion or grades include W50、W55、W60、W65、W70、W75, etc. And different proportion has different applications
W50~W55
W50~W55 tungsten copper contact is composed of 50~55% W and 45~50% Cu, which not only has high density (11.85g/cm3), high hardness (≥HB115), high strength, but also has good conductivity (%54IACS), softening temperature is ≥900℃. It mainly used in relays, high voltage switches, circuit breakers and other higher demands of electrical and thermal conductivity, arc erosion resistance.
W60~W65
W60~W65 tungsten copper contact is composed of 60~65% W and 35~40% Cu, which not only has high density (12.75g/cm3), high hardness (≥HB140), high strength, but also has good conductivity (%47IACS), softening temperature is ≥900℃. It can provide the essentials for discharge tube working steady.
W70~W75
Tungsten copper W70~75 contact is composed of 70~75% W and 25~30% Cu so that it is harder than W50 and W60 rods. Its density is up to 12.75g/cm3, hardness reaches more than HB140, and conductivity is 47%IACS, softening temperature is ≥900℃ and the bending strength is 790. It has excellent mechanical strength and anti-arc ablation capability so that it can be used for vacuum contacts, transformer switch and some electrical forging industries.
