Tungsten Copper Contact Property
Tungsten copper contact has excellent mechanical property, thermal, electrical conductivity and wear and corrosion resistance, which can be widely used in electrical processing and heat sink materials. It mainly evaluated by density, hardness, conductivity, CTE, wear resistance and tensile strength.
Density
Tungsten copper contact density is a kind of characteristic that does not change with mass and volume, is between 11.85~13.80g/cm3.
Hardness
Tungsten copper contact hardness refers to the capability resistance against outside intrusion, which is the basic indicator to evaluate the materials if soft or hard. As contact material, it has not special requirement for hardness, is general between 1150~1750HB.
Conductivity
The capability of current conduction is called as conductivity. Different proportion tungsten copper has different conductivity, which higher Cu content rod has higher electrical conductivity. Usually use σ to represent its conductivity. For the contact, it has higher requirement of conductivity, is general between 42~55.
CTE
Tungsten copper contact CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) represents the variation of length by temperature changes under constant pressure. And the unit of metal CTE is 1/℃.
Tensile Strength
Tungsten copper contact flexural strength refers to the resistance to bending without broken. It usually uses three-point or four-point test for evaluation.
